Open Events for Year R parents
Western CE Primary is looking forward to welcoming you to our Open Events for prospective Year R Parents looking for a school place in September 2026.
There are seven dates planned:

Refreshments are available 15 minutes before start time with a short presentation starting afterwards. There will then be an opportunity to tour the school in small groups, and to ask questions.
Do come along to see the children at work, view our spacious grounds and to hear about the wonderful learning environment we can offer your child at Western.

Is parking available?

There is two hour free parking on Poets Way and Bryon Avenue. Evening and weekend events, you are welcome to use the school carpark.

Can I bring my children?

Children are very welcome to attend the open events.

Can I ask specific admission questions on the day?

Of course. A member of the Senior Leadership Team and the Business Manager will be available to answer all of your questions.

I live out of catchment. Will I get a place at Western?

Everyone who has made us first choice on their application has been offered a place in the past three years. We do not expect that to change in September 2026.

Applications in other year groups
We may have some places available in other year groups.
If you would like to discuss applying for a place at Western please ring Pippa Howe-Velazquez, School Business Manager on 01962 852591 for a chat and to arrange a visit of the school if you would like.
You can apply for a place on the Hampshire School Admissions website where you can find the relevant application forms. You will be notified of the outcome of an in year application via email within ten school days, although we aim for a much quicker reply.
If you are applying on faith grounds please complete a supplementary information form and send it to us directly after submitting your application.
